Open call! residency PLAY
Tårnby Park Studio invites professional performing artists to apply for the residency PLAY. This opportunity is offered in collaboration with Tårnby Park Performance Festival and Inge Agnete Tarpgaard. It provides both individual artists and groups with the chance to deepen their practice, explore new approaches, and present their results in a showing during the festival.
Play is a part of our lives: board games, children’s games, power games in society, digital games, or the rules that govern our daily lives. Playing brings joy but also involves risk. It challenges us to question rules, develop strategies, and embrace the unpredictable.
During the residency, the focus is on engaging artistically with the concept of “play” and exploring it in relation to the people of Tårnby.
- What games shape our social lives?
- Where and why do we play?
- What happens when rules are broken or reinvented?
- Who actually determines the rules?
- And what role does the body play in games—through dance, theater, and human interaction?
What we offer:
- Up to 3 weeks of residency at Tårnby Park Studio during the preparation phase
- Artistic mentoring with Andreas Liebmann & Inge Agnete Tarpgaard
- Documentation of the work
- Presentation of the project during Tårnby Park Festival
- A project budget of 28,000 DKK for the entire group
Application:
Applications can be submitted in various formats:
- A motivated application—either as a text (1–2 pages), a video/audio file (max. 5 minutes), or a collage with a description.
- The application should include a brief description of the artistic idea and insight into the planned working method during the residency.
- CVs for all participants (max. 1 page per person). If available: links to websites, portfolios, or documentation of previous projects.
The jury consists of Inge Agnete Tarpgaard and five residents of Tårnbyhuse.
