About the project

BIRD FALLS is a cross-aesthetic music performance about worldwide bird deaths, a humanity in trouble and – perhaps – a faint hope for a better future. In 2011, thousands of birds inexplicably fell from the sky. Immediately, eyewitness accounts, logical explanations and doomsday prophecies began to pour out from more and less serious media. This was the starting point for playwright Ragni Halle to begin collecting newspaper articles and video related to the mysterious bird death. Over the years, the archive has grown quite extensive – because the birds keep falling. Based on the documentary material, a cross-aesthetic performance for adults is created, mixing musical theater with puppet and mask theater in an original way.

om Ragni Halle (NO) and Andrea Lindeneg (DK)

FUGL FALDER is created by puppeteer/actor Ragni Halle (NO) and set designer Andrea Lindeneg (DK). Andrea and Ragni have previously created the puppet horror-peep show “PAN*OCTO*PUS” together. Their common language is apocalyptic, tragicomic and bathed in beautiful images. For Fugl Falder, they have assembled a team of international performing artists consisting of musician/composer SXIP Shirey, director Heiki Riipinen, lighting designer Ariel Efraim Ashbel and dramaturge Jesper Halle.
